Focus
Variances in barriers and readiness to adopt across contexts and cultures.
Goals:
Identify key stakeholder groups for whom social, cultural and commercial differences may exist in perceptions of digital security and the barriers to adoption.
Analyse attitudes towards hardware vulnerabilities expressed in online social media.
Explain the variance in factors that influence the propagation of opinions around adoption, resistance, and perceptions of risk.
Identify differences between the narratives expressed in sectoral literature and online social spaces, and actual behaviour in practice.
Understand the statistical relationship between public policy on cybercrime reduction and stakeholder perception; and between the regulatory landscape and the uptake and adoption of cybercrime prevention mechanisms by business.
